The 1/4 oz. Redfish Skimmer Series Jig is our best seller and the original BackBone Lure! This is the workhorse of the line-up. It is a well known favorite in Florida, Louisiana and Texas for Redfish, Snook and Seatrout and Bonefish. This jig is right at home on the shallowest flats and can be fished slow in some of the deeper channels. It comes in a variety of colors, with many combinations of chartreuse. This has become a favorite of striper fisherman on the New England area bays and flats. Like all Skimmer Series Jigs, this one sinks slowly for its weight, sports a monofilament weedguard and is tied with the finest bucktails, and just the right of crystal flash. It has a tantalizing zig-zag motion when jigged upon retrieve. We offer the 1/4 oz. Skimmer Series Jig in many different selections. You should try and choose colors depending on the species you are after and the water clarity. We have found that nothing works better than BLACK in the muddy waters found along the Gulf Coast shallows. The color black is our newest pattern and has been our hottest seller, especially for Redfish. Try tipping the 1/4 oz. BackBone jig with a Gulp Shrimp. This will add to the profile of the bait not to mention the scent. This combination will cast a mile with up to 20# PowerPro line and a fast action Loomis Greenwater Series Rod. Bonefish

Whether you are fishing the flats of the Bahamas, Los Roques, Belize, Christmas Island, Ascension Bay or right here in the Florida Keys, The Redfish Skimmer Series Jig will fool even the toughest bonefish. Use the Redfish Series when the bonefish are found in deeper water or in "muds". If you need more distance on your cast the Redfish model is a better choice. Best colors vary from spot to spot but most of the guides agree that you can't go wrong with the tan and brown combination. The chartreuses, tans and pinks are also favorites in all areas for bonefish. See the Redfish Series Tan/Chartreuse Jig Pack in our online store.

Redfish

The Redfish Skimmer should be used for Redfish when they are found in shallow and slightly off-colored water. Fish them on all the shallow flats, and let them sink into channels in Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and Texas. If the water is murky try the black or tan/brown. If the water is clear you can never beat the chartreuses. Try the white/chartreuse, tan/chartreuse combinations. Add a 3" Gulp Scented Shrimp to your jig to add smell and weight for long distance casting. See the Redfish Series Back in Black Jig Pack in our online store.

Snook

The Redfish Skimmer should be used for Snook when they are found in shallow or off-colored water, or where you want to keep your lure a little lower in the water column. Fish them on all the shallow flats and channels in Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and Texas. If the water is murky try the black or tan/brown. If the water is clear you can never beat the chartreuses. Try the white/chartreuse, tan/chartreuse combinations. Add a 3" Gulp Scented Shrimp to your jig to add smell and weight for long distance casting. See the Redfish Series Tan/Chartreuse Jig Pack in our online store.

Permit

Permit in the Yucatan go crazy over the tan/brown Redfish Skimmer. Fish this 1/4 oz. model when fish are found in deeper water or where longer casts are necessary. Tan/brown seems to be the worldwide choice for permit. The permit prefer the lure to be kicking up puffs of sand off the bottom. Retrieve the jig slowly with little twitches.
